Mary's Story
Who am I? I am a Christian (not waving a banner saying, "Oh look how good I am." Just saying, "Oh my gosh! What a mess I am. Lord save."), wife, mother of 5 sons (4 by my 1st marriage and 1 by Dick's 1st marriage), grandmother of 15 ranging in age from 1 to 23, and last but not least God-mother to a 43 year old young woman I met through our adult literacy program. I was and still am her tutor. Her living conditions became unbearable a year ago and there are no resources in our small town so we moved her in with us a year ago. As it turns out it's a God thing that started 35 years ago. She was badly abused from an early age and most of her adult life and she's a little slow book wise but she has a lot of street smarts. She's finally beginning to understand unconditional love which was my greatest desire because I really don't think she's ever really been loved before, not even by her birth parents.

r.s and take so much medication that I've turned out to be a high maintenance female. It's a good thing God knew that I was going to need a strong and patient man when he brought Dick into my life.
I like to read, crochet, watch TV. I used to work out in the yard and with my flowers a lot which was always kind of therapeutic for me but I can't do that anymore. One of the things I would really like to do is clean my house from top to bottom. That may sound weird but sometimes you don't realize what it's like to do some of those mundane chores until you can't do them anymore or you have to load up on pain meds if you chose to try. I know that by now anyone reading this has quit or is thinking blah,blahblah, blahblah.
I would love to hear from anyone who wants to get in touch. I promise not to whine or complain and I can't promise to be particularly entertaining...although I do have my moments.
